Ramblings about My Weekend (2)

I had a good weekend and it feels good to come back to work, Powerade Zero in hand and be ready for a new week. I’ve been drinking vega smoothies in the AM and while they’re great, by the time I get to the gas station/ convenience store on my way to work I’m still too full for an iced coffee. This isn’t necessarily a problem, but it makes me think about grabbing something a little bit lighter for my mornings. I’m thinking about baking egg muffins.

One of the best parts of this weekend was the weather. It was in the 60’s for most of the entire weekend and I felt like we were flashing forward to fall. I wanted it to be even slightly cooler so ordering a soy latte would actually warm me up. But I shouldn’t rush the weather, because after fall comes winter and winter is my least favorite.
On Saturday I attended ReaderCon in Quincy. I went to a few different panels, browsed around at all the book sellers stations and watched Catherynne M. Valente being interviewed. That interview at the end was probably my highlight of the whole ReaderCon. CMV made me want to read more. A few years back I bought The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland In A Ship of Her Own Making, and I read some of it. I think it was during my grad school years, because I never finished it – not for any good reason. I think I’m going to pick it up again.
Sunday I had lunch at a Korean restaurant in Plymouth and walked around a little just to get back to my car. My friend Paulette and I stood by my car talking for a while after, and we kept seeing people playing Pokemon Go. I thought it was kind of hilarious. After a few rounds of Netflix and YouTube Sunday night, though, I downloaded Pokemon Go. Unfortunately I cant’ really play it because my phone GPS doesn’t work right and it doesn’t even know where I am. I think it’s time for a new phone, but who wants to pay for one of those!?

  1. Go to google maps and then on the top left side you’ll see three lines, click on that, then go to settings, then offline maps and download maps of your work and home :-). If you’re having other issues with your GPS send me a text and maybe I can troubleshoot.

    1. thanks for you suggestion! I don’t even use Google maps, though. I use the apple maps app, but also PokemonGo doesn’t work on my phone either because it can’t detect me moving.
